How to Use Mail Stronghold Zimbra Email Filter

Below are directions for using Mail Stronghold for Zimbra email.

Let's review a few definitions related to using email.
- Recipient: The User or system receiving a particular email message. When someone sends email to you, you are the Recipient.
- Sender: The User or system sending a particular email message. When someone sends email to you, that person is the Sender.
- Blacklist: A list of Senders blocked from sending you email.
- Whitelist: Once you identify those trapped in your Junk mail folder, this is a list of "friendly" email Senders.
- Junk: the mail folder/directory where [S]pa[m] is placed automatically after you identify any given email as Spam, or email is identified as Spam by Mail Stronghold.
- Zimlet: A plug-in for Zimbra that enables some sort of extra functionality, such as integration with a cloud security service so that Users may independently manage Whitelisting and Blacklisting without leaving their usual web client.
Using the Mail Stronghold Email Filter [S]pa[m] Controls
These Instructions for using Mail Stronghold assume you are using a web browser to view your Zimbra personal email, calendars, etc..

Blocking Senders
Adding to your personal Blacklist
- Block Senders so they can never email you again!
- In your InBox, click once on your victim (email).
- Click to the right of your [S]pa[m] button.
- From resulting drop-down menu, select Blacklist.
- That’s it! That Sender can never send to you again.
- To move to Junk, too, use Blacklist and [S]pa[m].

Unblocking Senders
Managing your personal Blacklist
- Easily view and unblock Senders you’ve blocked.
- In your InBox, click on any email.
- Click to the right of your [S]pa[m] button.
- See above pic. Select View/modify blacklist.
- The Viewing blacklisted senders window opens.
- Click in boxes to left of Senders to unblock.
- When done selecting Senders, click Remove.
- You removed Senders from your personal Blacklist.
- Now those Senders may send you email again
Never Mark as [S]pa[m]
Whitelisting a friendly person
- Whitelist Senders so they are never marked Spam!
- In your InBox, click once on an email.
- Click to the right of your [S]pa[m] button.
- See above pic. Select Whitelist.
- That’s it! That Sender will always get through.
- Train Mail Stronghold certain email is not spam.
- In your Junk folder, you may Not [S]pa[m].
- This tells us we’ve incorrectly identified spam.
- Whitelist and Not [S]pa[m] does both at once.
- It also moves email from Junk to your Inbox!
Managing Your Whitelist
Re-enabling [S]pa[m]-check on someone
- Easily view/remove Senders you’ve whitelisted.
- In your InBox, click on any email.
- Click to the right of your [S]pa[m] button.
- See above pic. Select View/modify whitelist.
- The Viewing whitelisted senders window opens.
- Click in boxes to left of Senders to remove them.
- When done selecting Senders, click Remove.
- You removed Senders from your personal Whitelist.
- Now those Senders could be marked [S]pa[m].
